coz they would need to have them drive by

in Belgium, local businesses get partnered and act as "depot", in your mail you get a receipt with the location of the local business and you go get your package there in exchange for the receipt

Amazon has a bunch of these "lockers" all over. Before I moved far away from any I used them all the time.

isn't police and laws a thing in US? or they are to free to bother about respecting the laws

It's a 3rd world country, what do you expect?
20/02/21
Nope, packstation is a DHL only service. DHL hasn't made very strong inroads into North America. North America does have an independent parcel locker system called ParcelPending that serves a similar purpose but can be used by any courier company with the appropriate access code.

In poland we have Inpost and they put over 10k of their "paczkomat" which can translate to package machine, they have even chilled ones for frozen food

There are locked mail boxes for my neighborhood, yes. Amazon leaves it at my door anyway.
20/02/21
Yeah, they’re called PO boxes.
20/02/21
In belgium we also have these but not from DHL but from our mail service i am a mailman myself these are called "cubee" over here
20/02/21
Even Romania has those things. Government's corrupt as fuck but hey...at least we can keep most of our orders safe :))
20/02/21
But then the packages wouldn't be free for thieves. You miss the point of the land of the free!
20/02/21
Some people actually like to get the package delivered to home adress. Otherwise you might as well go to the store and buy it on the spot.
20/02/21
We have this in the Cities but For any europeen that havent been in north america usa , canada is UDGE compare to where you are from and we have a lot less people also house can be very far appart it would mean that you could be driving 30 min or more to get a package and mail Just in my province Québec is 7 time the size of france , you can drive 15 hours and still be in the same province
20/02/21
Think you kinda missed the point of the service? It’s so we don’t have to leave to receive a package.
20/02/21
They'd stuck their dick or/and children in it then sue the company because their skin doesn't tolerate yellow. And Karen wouldn't be able to yell at anyone when she'll realize she can't buy anything on the spot. Not for them.

Amazon has lockers in the more urban places, but other than that nope. That's not a thing.
20/02/21
america doesn't have one of these what a great idea to have a bunch of packages in one area that looks very well protected ohh yeah that will definitely work here

Even in my shithole country (Brazil) the deliveries must be received in person by the buyer, otherwise they won't deliver it
