These long-time predictions are completely useless, but that doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Just recently I read an article that analysed former predictions of "military experts", including ex-generals like him. To sum it up: the predictions are basically random bullshit.
it's not enough to "control" them - they have to repossess them. that means expropriating all the damn russians who settled there and driving them back to their worthless dirt land!
