well no... you lower the taxes but the comapnies have more chances to grow => more income => taxes increase with more income => profit

The best part is that Brexit was supposed to free the UK from being 'dominated by Brussels' (it was not, but whatever). Now banks dictate UK policies because obviously they don't want to trust the economy of a small single lonely country. Nice job, brexiters.

Lowering taxes increased expenditure. If the income has lowered after cutting taxes, it moat likely means that the people were overtaxed.
