it came in a wooden case with steel strings, so at least 50 years old. no stamp or sticker inside. the strings on the photo are modern polymer ones from my other violin, i didnt want to give it the tension of steel strings. it sounds bad because the varnish under the bridge is gone, so it doesnt have good contact. the bow hair is obviously rotten away.

Just take it to a luthier. They should know. Also doesn't look very old to me, probably a mass produced instrument since there is no sticker on the inside.
