They've been working on capacitor based batteries with super fast charge and discharge rates for years. We will figure it out, How long is the real question

Space tech sounds like the "nano technology" " quantum technology" in movies.....
13/10/22
Ye, i want to see that first. How would we provide that much power that fast to charging locations? And how is the clean power on demand going??? Even rich countries like mine has massive grid problems because of how fast we are changing...
13/10/22
Why wait for charging? Just swap the battery, duh.

meanwhile, some guy at nasa who has no idea how badly press overestimated his invention:

Space tech sometimes uses alloys and materials so expensive, only a multi-billion dollar company can expend on a handful of equipment. Not practical or economical on a mass scale for consumers.
13/10/22
Let's just imagine that this is possible. That's an enormous amount of current that has to flow. This means the charging cables have to be massive, thus expensive. Because of the high current, the heat created will be very significant too. This leads to a lot of inefficiencies meaning that you'll lose a large part of the energy you pay for. Just imagine paying for a full tank of gasoline and only receiving half in a regular car.. Plus, heat stresses the battery and damages the capacity quickly. And all of that is even assuming the electricity net can handle everyone pulling this kind of monster currents all at once. Which it can't. I say in real life this won't be viable. The only viable option is hydrogen. Yes, less efficient in production, but so much more practical and capable.
13/10/22
That either will generate A LOT of heat or you'll need some super conductive materials to make it viable.
13/10/22
It is called hydrogen. Is used on eléctric cars. Takes 5 min to fill the tank

Purdue? Those from oxi?
13/10/22
Im quite happy with my charging time. Gives me a reason to actually stop for 20 minutes every three hours. Im much more allert and I never get tiered anymore while driving long .
13/10/22
No OP. They claim they could solve it. Sounds like bs to prop up crappy "renewable" energy.
13/10/22
And where do you get the huge amount of electricity from?
13/10/22
You don't need fast charging to solve this problem, you need standardized replaceable batteries with a stockpile of them on the charging stations. When you arrive at the station you just replace the battery and the charging station keeps a steady flow of charged batteries ready to be used at any given time. This really is a no brainer and that's pretty much how gas stations work - there's a stockpile of fuel in the gas station, when you arrive you just put it in your car and drive away, you don't wait for the fuel to be dug out from the ground, refined and what not and just THEN be ready to use for your car in specific
13/10/22
Possibly, might, may, it is believed, theoretically, soon, hoped thought. And this all of a sudden when the realities on EV’s are starting to kick in. Strange that.
13/10/22
Sounds like creating problem. You can super-fast charge your car? It's green? What is stoping you and everyone else to drive 2x more than before? Still it consume energy, thus pollutes. We just wont see it because you are not carying the powerplant. Until we finally stop and think about what we should use energy for, these innovations won't solve shit.
13/10/22
You fucking moron... Space tech? How affordable WILL THAT NOT BE... You green cunts are so delusional, you rival with the woke...
