Lets just call it soccer and american soccer... if we have to piss off people, at least piss off everyone.

Bruh, who cares. When in the US, call it soccer. Outside of the US, call it football. Everyone happy.

its called football because the "ball" is 1 foot long (foot as Unit of measurement - 30,48cm for the rest of the world) but i still try to find out where the "ball" comes from.

the worst thing is that if you ask someone if they watch football in us , they will think it's their "football" the hand egg one and refer to the real football as soccer which is so annoying.

Different things have different names in different places, get over it.

I don't see people kicking any ball with their foot. It should be called shoe ball.
26/09/22
Originally it's called "Association Football". The name soccer comes from the "soc" in "association". If it's your main code then great but in Australia it's the 4th most popular football code and we still often make the World Cup...

2 points 1) "Soccer" is a European term for a European sport. 2) Football was modeled after Polo, but instead of horses it is played on FOOT, which is why it's called Football

It’s called soccer here in Australia, and after a little search it’s apparently a thing in Canada too. So it’s not just a US thing. People who lose their marbles over one term being used over the other need more things going on in their life.

We don’t care what the Euros think about us.
