1. if you share a washing machine with the whole building then the fabric softener slot is reserved for disinfectant
2. all your neighbours have Cromanian butt scurvy and you skipped step one to read this, omae wa mō shinde iru
3. your filthy neighbours will fill the detergent slot with powder, and by fill I mean keep pouring until the powder overflows and hits the floor, and by powder I mean it's not available at your local store, the box will have Cyrillic, Arabic, and Greek letters on it with a picture of single very clean but visibly oppressed bubble, never look directly at the box
4. every washing machine will always be massively overfilled, the display will say 1600RPM, but the machine will be so full that all visible clothing will be spinning at 1RPM max
Fabric softener makes my clothes feel and smell good. The absorption rate of my towels has never been a problem. I'll keep using fabric softener, thank you.
In my experience, softener doesn't really soften clothes in any significant way, but it sure as hell leaves them smelling really nice, which is more than enough reason to use it (specially considering how cheap it is).
The softener one, I'd disagree. The towel argument is irrelevant for everything else, less absorption ability is actually a plus for everything else that is not meant to absorb, underwear without softener is rough and can itch.
He's definetly not a laundry expert if he doesn't know hard water exists... Give me an alternative or I'll use softener to keep my clothes from being rock hard...
