I love the ads for meta at the train station
"someday, surgery students will be able to practice their surgeries thousands of times"
or
"you could visit ancient archeological sites"
yeah right, if anyone actually bother making these because it sure as hell ain't part of the basic package lmao
It looks like shit, but I would like the concept to succeed and be polished by competitors.
I want to spend my retirement in a "Ready Player One" world. Just let the doctors and nurses feed me through my anus while I spend the remainder of my lifespan in a self-induced coma, raiding dungeons, getting smudged by Overwatch tiddies, and pretending to be a high school girl.
Is this a jab at Meta specifically, or VR in general?
Because i would say that VR has potential, it already has some nice games, the things holding it back are some issues like price of equipment, small library of quality games and the necessity of enough space to stand and swing your arms around.
Meta is dumb shit though, it's like VR chat but extremely sanitized and with that corpo taint attached to it.
I have a HTC Vive and i'm glad I did. Shortly after you suddenly needed a Facebook account to use the Oculus. Now imagine a headset with cameras in the controllers and a headset able to recognize facial expression. Which is what this thing is. People are completely mad to trust Facebook with all that information. Not even aside from the fact to pay them 1500 to spy on your literal EVERY move.
I hope this bombs so bad that it bankrupts weird lizard man and forces hundreds of con men trying to sell cyber real estate to offload their inventory of VR gear bringing the price down under a grand
