In Canada we use the far better square head. The only reason Philips was used is because Ford used them. It was a way to not over torque the fasteners without proper torquing tools. Nowadays it's completely useless... We still use Philips for drywall tho...

Kinda like Robertson best but whatev

Slow down big fella! We're still waiting for the US to adopt the metric system. Can't ask too much of them at once.

Philips are the best ones!

Interesting idea, I don't mind the torx, just annoying when always have to switch back to more standardized screw heads
06/10/22
Can’t really use torx on an angle
06/10/22
Torx bits snap too easily.
06/10/22
that won't solve anything dear OP. any screw can be stripped if people use wrong screwdriver.

The Phillips screw strips on purpose to prevent damage to the object if the dumb user puts way too much strength in it. Torx are only for applications that really requires the screw to be very tight and will cause big inconvenience even if slightly loose, like the screws that hold your car door in place, for example.

Camming out a screw is better than overtightening . You should know people are dumb
06/10/22
One screw head to rule them all.
06/10/22
3 things that I despise in this world: - Papaya - Windows command line - slotted screw heads
06/10/22
Phillips screws were designed to cam out to prevent over tightening. That’s usually a better outcome.
06/10/22
They’re all the same shit.
06/10/22
I don't use a screwdriver much but why don't we use flat/slotted screws everywhere? To me they seem the easiest to use. Philips screws always get destroyed. Don't know about any other types.

Cost. The reason is cost.

flathead

not gonna happen in our lifetime
