@sekkra unlikely. A train derailer lies in same direction as track for first 30 cm then diverts wheels off track to one side. The device used in this case would not derail a train. However train would simply slice it. The proper course of action would be to mount hose above the crossing, at a height where it won't be any danger to the firefighters or train. Flies off.

If a train or other vehicle (shunting locomotive, trolley, etc.) is moving at low speeds on this section, this will help. At least the fire hose is visible from a much greater distance.
