It's for a different indication. A stent is used to treat the atherosclerotic plaque, here we see a exclusively thrombotic MI, which is not as common. Yeah, we'll still need stents anyway
It is very unlikely that a vessel in which a clot completely closed the blood flow looks this pristine. Atherosclerosis can't just be sucked out and clots are if at all responsible just the final straw that closed the vessel completely. So you still do need to open the vessel and hold it open with a stent. Besides blood clots in the cardiac arteries wasn't removed via surgery, they are much too small for that, if any surgery takes place there it's to put in a bypass. This might be a nice thing for some cases but the ad completely oversells on what it will do.
I've been seeing this ad for years now, is it even being used anywhere? Not in my country as far as I know. But i live in a 3rd world so no surprises but any 1st world country citizen here who could update me?
No it's not possible. I work in the cardiology Departement of a Hospital in Germany. Sometimes the artery/vein is so broken you can't just "pull out" blood clots out cause the risk of causing and aneurysm or rupture is too damn high!
“Without surgery” this is still surgery. It’s just a lot less invasive than open heart surgery which is getting rarer and rarer for coronary artery disease.
This „theory“ has been around for years. Have you seen stents disappear? No. Because this is still theory. Stop sucking dick and try to inform yourself BEFORE posting shit. Thanks.
