Actually I think we aren't maturing as fast as the generations before us for two reasons:
1) We don't have to
2) We know, no matter how hard we work, we will never have it as good as our parents, so we cling on to precious child memories - when we had nothing to worry about - to not give in to the crippling depression that lingers behind our day-to-day self gaslighting that everything is gonna be okay.
Nothing is gonna be okay and we will probably die alone, poor and in the cold, because we are financially unable to bring up a child that will care for us in our last days, but man, I love Pikachu.
Yeahh....no.
Ask you parents, most of our parents, de 1960-1980 generation parents, they didn't say...let's have a kid, they for most part had unprotected sex and the pregnancy happened, they got with it.
So no...the where not more mature, they simply got with the flow...and also got a lot of help from their parents (the new grandparents) these days, us younger people are thinking more of the future and are more realistic. And you see this when you get older...and your parents open up more to you and you find...that they where more lost and did not know what they where doing, not more then you.
