I boxed for 7 years and I wrapped my hands the same way exept for the beginning step where he wraps 3 times for the knuckles, boxing gloves are thick enough to not hurt your knuckles when you punch, the wrist and thumb part is the only thing I think really matters) when you miss a punch and accidentally hit with the thumb, that hurts, and I once fucked my wrist up punching the heavy bag, I was still wearing wraps and 18oz gloves.
Don't waste your time, use these, I'm speaking as a Mexican who just to fight and train, when you make this wrapping or the more fancy one with white bandages, tape and shit, there's 30 minutes that you could be using for warming up, stretching or starting to hit the bag slow and keep raising.
I've seen professional taping that starts with a hand massage, pre tape, big pad for the knuckles, bandages, taping, more bandages, taping.
You're not going to hit the bag like Mike Tyson, just train at your 69% when you box, no need to go all out.
