as a frenchman agreed 100%, outside of the few iconic spots, it's a cramped and ugly city, overcrowded and dirty, and eye-gouging prices everywhere. every foreigner asking me advice when travelling to france is say the same "i get it, you want your eiffel tower picture, go to paris for day, do the tourist spots then get out". pretty much everywhere else will be nicer, cheaper and nicer people, the rude arrogant image of the french is actually the parisians, which are also seen like this in the rest of france.

TBH I love Paris. But without people inside. Like a very beautiful city epic museum, too bad there's people inside

Montreal is awful. Street look like they receive a bombardement, every road are close and deviated for renovation, there is tons of traffic, etc etc

Berlin. Homeless People everywhere. Traffic looks like a 3rd world country sometimes. I have walked 35 km in berlin last 2 days to go from tourist spot to tourist spot. Also the trains. So many focking trains were cancelled that it took me 12 hours to come to berlin instead of 4.5 hours.

It's only overrated by the foreigners.. ask any frenchy and they'll tell you Paris and its inhabitants suck

I’ve lived in Paris for ten years, and I love it. You have to know your way around it and be french to love it. Tourists are always disappointed and I get why, but as a local, I like it.

Well there are countries that have a word for the disappointment people get when they go to Paris so it's most likely Paris For me it was Pisa what an underwhelming ugly thing

The funny comes when you realize, not only there are maybe 6-7 out of 10 people who don't like Paris. But out of these, 2-3 live in Paris! In the course of a decade, they transitioned from happy sweet summer child wanting to live the parisian dream, until they realized it is cheaper, safer, quieter, healthier to live about anywhere else, and now have turned to pissed off sour goblins. And best is majority of them voted for the shitty policies that made the place worse. Paris was overrated 10y ago. I don't even think it's to be rated at all nowadays. Now if you like history and architecture it's still a very good place to visit. But unless you'd be happy to live in a closet, without touching grass, in a smelly overpopulated overpriced place, or you'd be happy to become "happy few" from bourgeois district, disconnected from real world, paris isn't a place for you.

Rome Most crowded city I've ever been to so you wait for everything. Streets and infrastructure not fit for a modern metropol and everything is old and dirty. Their attractions are all just ruins or churches. Can't complain about the Roman food or the women though. Those deserve an applaus.

If all the assholes who hate Paris just fucking left it, it would be a pretty good place
